Awarding Bodies
Awarding Bodies are being invited in October 2009 to submit initial proposals to develop qualification specifications for the Diploma in Languages and International Communication and the other Phase 4 Diplomas. This area provides information and support for awarding bodies interested in submitting a proposal, through a range of documents and resources. Over time we we plan to offer updates of the Awarding Body Toolkit as well as develop a list of FAQs. In the meantime if you have a query which is not answered here, you are welcome to contact us.
Further information on Phase 4 Diplomas is available from the DCSF and QCDA websites.
Awarding Body Toolkit
This toolkit has been developed to help awarding bodies develop specifications which meet the Diploma vision. It includes practical examples and a range of detail and guidance which will help you understand the thinking behind the Diploma in Languages and International Communication.
Line of Learning Statement
The Line of Learning Statement has been produced by the Languages and International Communication Diploma Development Partnership to convey the rationale, vision and content of the Diploma in Languages and International Communication. This document was finalised on 31 July 2009 following extensive research and consultation with major stakeholders in education, business and beyond.
Line of Learning Criteria
The Line of Learning Criteria will act as the regulatory tool for the accreditation of the principal learning. It also specifies the requirements against which awarding bodies will be developing their principal learning qualification. These criteria were approved by the regulators Ofqual on 31 July 2009.
