Bringing language learning to life

Elizabeth Anne Fallaize, 1950-2009

Release date: 08 January 2010

The Languages and International Communication Diploma Development Partnership and Steering Group would like to express their sorrow over the passing away on 6 December 2009 of Elizabeth Fallaize, Professor of French and from 2005 Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Oxford University.  Elizabeth was tremendously supportive as a Steering Group member for the Diploma, taking the trouble to travel down to meetings in London even when her health rapidly deteriorated, having been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.  Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Alan Grafen; by his daughters Rosie and Tessa; and by her own two children, Alice and Jack Driscoll.
